Sakura Petals
Sakura Petals, 8'' x 11'' acrylic on paper
by Rini Angeliantari
They say it falls effortlessly --
it descends divinely winding stairs
from the topmost of silent wail.
They say time falls unluckily --
when I stopped to sip those sugared smile,
honeyed comb of blackened hair
beneath the pink of syrupy winds.
Therefore I was addicted to you --
neither effortlessly, nor unconsciously.
But they say lover falls uncontrollably --
I fell and fell all over again
kissing ground and cold soil,
unrequited hopelessly.
